Visa requirements for tourists to Egypt
Travellers from Schengen countries are eligible for an e-visa or visa on arrival in Egypt. See below or https://visa2egypt.gov.eg for more information.
Citizens of the US and UK do not require a visa to enter Egypt, but passports must be valid for more than six months after their arrival date.
Nationals of the following countries and territories may visit Egypt without a visa, depending on the duration of their stay:
- Bahrain
- Saudi-Arabien
- Kuwait
- Oman
- Vereinigte Arabische Emirate
- Jordanien
- Palästina
- Sudan
- Libanon
- Marokko
- Tunesien
- Algerien
- Afghanistan
- Hongkong
- Macao

Visa on arrival
The Egyptian visa on arrival is available at Cairo Airport, Hurghada Airport, Borg el Arab Airport, St Catherine Airport, Sharm el Sheikh Airport, and Luxor Airport. The cost of the single-entry Egyptian visa on arrival is 25 USD.
Applicants must pay the fee in US dollars, Euros, or British Pounds and are advised to arrive at the Egyptian point of entry with the exact amount to avoid delays.

Short-stay visa fees are listed below. Additional payments, such as consular or service fees (if you use an outsourced visa company), may be required, which vary depending on your country of origin.
Current Egypt visa fees as of October 2023:
- Single-entry tourism visa: 25 USD
- Multiple-entry tourism visa: 60 USD
